What to Expect

Dress – Renewal attendees come in all types of attire.  Some are more formal in business casual, some come in jeans.  Our concern in not what people wear, but who they worship.

Nursery and Preschool – We provide nursery and preschool childcare for the entirety of the service.  Partners are met at the door with an assistant who will take the parents and child to a safe and secure room adjacent to our main meeting room where the children will be kept during the service.  Depending on the numbers of children, we will have a certain number of workers who have been pre-screened using a background check to ensure the safety of all children.

Grade-school – We desire for Renewal to be a place where families worship together; therefore, parents and grade-school children will start each Renewal service worshipping God together.  However, we recognize that the teaching portion of the Sunday morning service might be a bit challenging for grade-school children, therefore, we take first- through fifth-grade students to another secure area before the teaching time begins. There they are led by trained teachers through age appropriate material that is similar in content to what is being discussed in the adult area.  We also encourage parents to monitor their children and allow them to attend the main service at whatever point their individual maturation allows.

Music – Our desire on Sunday mornings is to maintain a sprit of reverence and sincerity in our singing and not get carried away with attempting to entertain those in attendance.  Because we recognize that we gather to worship God together, we believe that the best music on Sunday mornings happens when you don’t even notice that someone is leading.  However, we are led on Sundays by different individuals in our congregation gifted in these areas.  Typically a band leads us in song with a mix of hymns, choruses, and contemporary songs.

Teaching – The desire of Renewal Church is to be one in which the Word of God is esteemed, valued, loved, and taught.  The typical style of teaching involves taking a book of the Bible and teaching through it in a systematic fashion.  Periodically, we will address certain topics by seeing how they are addressed in different places in Scripture and studying those relevant passages.  The sermon is central to our time of gathering as we seek to be obedient to the Word of God.
